Rules

Fees: $50 per owner, due at the start of the season, preferably at the start of the draft.  We are all adults, so please don’t make us hunt you down for payment, it’s not fair to you, us, or those that have won money and are waiting for payment.

Draft:  Usually a couple of weeks before the start of the college football season.  It is done via text until all teams have been picked.

Note:  The 2025 season begins on Saturday August 23, with four games, including potential top 25 teams.

Rules:

Each person drafts five NCAA FBS or FCS (if you so choose).  The draft order is based on the order of worst to first from the previous season, but unlike other leagues you may have been in, the owners get to choose their draft position for the next season starting with the last place owner continuing to the first place owner from the previous season.  This is an inverse draft so if you have the 1st pick in round one you will have the last pick in round two then the last pick in round three, the first pick in round four and the last pick in round five.  It’s a little confusing but it is the most fair way to draft. Only your top 4 teams will be scored according to their ranking in the AP Poll. Just as in golf, you want the lowest score possible. (If your teams are ranked #1, #12, #20, #28, and Unranked then your score would be 61). Remember only your top four teams’ score counts.  If your team is not mentioned in the rankings, that is an automatic 50 pt’s, unless of course if it is your fifth team. You cannot alter your teams until the mid season redraft.

Mid-season:

The mid-season ends after the 2nd Saturday of October (Sat Oct 11, 2025)

Cuts must be made by the 2nd Sunday of October by midnight.  (Sun Oct 12, 2025)

Owners must notify commissioner (Dave) of the two OR MORE teams they are cutting by Sunday.  (All owners may cut as many of their five teams as they wish but they MUST cut at least two teams)  If an owner does not have their cuts in by the deadline then the league will cut the two lowest teams in the latest AP poll that are on your roster.  If there is a tie then the team(s) will be cut alphabetically)

Re-draft:

The re-draft begins as soon as all cuts have been made and will take place via text until all teams have been picked. The goal is to get the draft done ASAP as there often games every night of the week by this point in the season. If you know the teams you are interested in and know you will not be able to answer a text for a couple of hours or more, please send Dave a list to help move the draft along as quickly as possible.  The owner with the worst ranked team at midseason gets first pick in both redraft rounds and this order is followed for all the teams.

NCAA Playoff Pool: (new for 2025)

Rules:  Assign a number to 7 of the 12 teams.  Assign each team a number from 1-7 with 7 being your best team and 1 being your worst team.  Each time a team advances the owner will receive the number of points assigned to said team.  No points for byes so consider that in your strategy.  Winner takes all. If there is a tie then the tiebreakers will come into play. An owner must pick each of the tie-breakers or they will receive 0 for each of these.  If owners are still tied after both tie-breakers then prize money will be shared equally.  Entry is due by 11:59 on date TBD, 2025.  No entries will be accepted after the deadline. There is no entry fee so you have nothing to loose.  If an owner does not get their entry in by the deadline then they are not allowed to participate in the Playoff Pool, no exceptions. All owners picks will be posted ASAP after the deadline and will be updated ASAP after each playoff game.

Tiebreakers: Tiebreaker #1 is total combined points in the national championship game.  Tiebreaker #2 is the total first downs combined in the national championship game.

NFL Playoff Pool:

Rules:  Instead of assigning a number to all 12 playoff teams owners are only assigning a number to seven teams.  Each owners must have three teams from the NFC, three teams from the AFC. The seventh team can be from either conference. Assign each team a number from 1-7 with seven being receiving the most points and one receiving the least points. Each time a team advances an owner will receive the number of points assigned to that team.  No points for byes so consider that in your strategy.  Winner takes all. If there is a tie then the tiebreakers will be taken into effect. Each must pick each of the tie-breakers or you will receive 0 for each of these.  If owners are still tied after both tie-breakers then prize money will be shared equally.  Entry is due by 11:59 p.m. on Friday TBD, 2026.  No entries will be accepted after the deadline. There is no entry fee as this is a pool.  If an owners does not an entry in by the deadline then they are not eligible to play in the playoff pool, no exceptions.  All owners picks will be posted ASAP after the deadline and will be updated ASAP after each playoff game.
